Magic System
🟆 Basics
Magic is a fundamental force of nature and plays a significant role in the lives of every inhabitant of Aldenmore. It can be divided into two primary types: arcane, which draws from the world and universe surrounding the caster, and divine, which is inspired by the realms of gods and demons.

🟆 Arcane Magic
Spells of this type focus on manipulating energy, transforming one substance into another, or summoning the services of other creatures. Practitioners of arcane magic are generally called arcane spellcasters or arcanists. To master arcane magic, one must possess an innate talent to sense the magical energies around them. It requires years of intensive study and practice to learn how to cast powerful arcane spells.

🟆 Divine Magic
Divine magic is typically less overtly powerful than arcane magic and has fewer offensive applications. Divine spells are often used for healing the wounded, restoring lost abilities, acquiring blessings, or inflicting harm and curses upon opponents. This form of magic also allows for communion with nature, influencing the weather, and communicating with creatures and plants.

🟆 Mhorai Magic
The magic of the Mhorai stems from both arcane and divine sources, a combination that is usually not possible to have. Born from the sacrifice of an ancient god, they possess innate magical power. This act granted them a natural connection to arcane magic, allowing them to instinctively manipulate the world around them without formal training. Their divine heritage also grants them the rare ability known as the Moon Awakening, which empowers their body and enhances their innate arcane power.

🟆 Dimension Portals
After many decades of research and engineering, it became possible to travel vast distances in a short amount of time through enormous dimensional portals. These portals are powered by the arcane energy from giant crystals that grow in the Eldermire. It takes experts in arcane magic to control these portals, making travel through them very expensive.
Gods and Deities
A deity is a being of immense divine power. Deities can be categorized by their rank, origin, or whether they are living or dead. Like other sentient beings, deities possess a range of native and learned skills. As they grow in divine power, these abilities increase in potency, though they are not omnipotent. Instead, they are superhumanly powerful and highly skilled in a chosen area of expertise. Worshipers are vital for the continued existence and power of most deities. The number and devotion of a deity’s followers play a crucial role in determining their strength. A deity without worshipers or one who has faded in popularity will gradually lose their power, and in extreme cases, may even die from neglect.
