The World of Aldenmore

Aldenmore is a vast and ancient world brimming with mystery, magic, and peril. While it exists within the material plane, it is deeply connected to other realms, with lingering traces of forgotten powers woven throughout its lands. Stretching across the northern hemisphere, Aldenmore’s climate varies from frozen wastelands to temperate forests and sun-scorched coasts.

Legends speak of once-thriving continents swallowed by the Eldermire, lost to time and untouched by travelers for countless years. Today, three known continents remain, each shaped by history, war, and the relentless forces of nature. Beyond them lies an expanse of untamed wilderness, where the land itself resists civilization’s grasp. Over a third of the world remains unclaimed, not out of neglect, but because the wilds are simply too dangerous. Great beasts, ancient entities, and dark forces rule these lands, making survival all but impossible for the unprepared.

The Continent of Aldenmore

🟆 Morven – The Land of Eternal Seasons

Located in the northern reaches of Aldenmore, Morven is a land of ever-shifting seasons. Winters here are brutal, with deep snows blanketing the land and freezing lakes solid, yet trade remains possible through its icy waters. Summers, while mild, rarely bring true warmth, but that does not stop Morven’s hardy people from braving the ocean waves.

Capital: Ashorl

Nestled within a dense forest of towering, ancient trees, Ashorl is unlike any other city in Aldenmore. Built around and within a single, ever-growing tree known as Duneyrr, the city’s structures are magically entwined with its massive branches. The heart of Ashorl is a bustling hub of markets, taverns, and guilds, while homes and workshops extend outward, perched upon sturdy limbs or nestled within the tree’s vast trunk. The very essence of Ashorl is bound to Duneyrr, and as the tree continues to grow, so too does the city.

🟆 Damurahn – The Realm of War and Steel

At the heart of Aldenmore lies Damurahn, a land steeped in conflict and ambition. Known for its powerful armies and relentless internal struggles, Damurahn’s history is one of conquest, rebellion, and political intrigue. Its wealth stems from its abundant natural resources, fueling rapid technological advancements. Winters bring deep snowfall to the mountains, while the southern lowlands experience milder, more temperate seasons.

Capital: Mairyl

Mairyl stands as a beacon of power and trade, nestled against the mighty Iron Peak Mountains. This sprawling city is the heart of Damurahn’s economy, home to its largest markets and most influential trade routes. Here, the renowned magical academy produces some of the most skilled arcane users in all of Aldenmore. The city is a blend of practicality and prestige — while many of its buildings are constructed from plain stone, the wealthiest districts boast gleaming structures of white stone and rare metals. The Crown’s Guard, an elite force sworn to protect the empire, watches over Mairyl with unwavering vigilance.

🟆 Nazahr – The Jewel of the Seas

Nazahr is a land of adventure, trade, and peril. Its lower region thrives on commerce, as merchants seek fortune by gathering rare resources from lands swallowed by the Eldermire — a dangerous yet highly profitable endeavor. As a result, Nazahr has become a haven for travelers, mercenaries, and treasure seekers. Its ports bustle with activity, though piracy is a constant threat on the high seas. The northern lands of Nazahr are covered in sprawling fields and dense redwood forests, while the climate remains tropical, with humid summers and mild winters.

Capital: Irodranas

Perched along the Marahna Coast, Irodranas is the beating heart of Nazahr’s maritime trade. Though not the largest city, it is by far the most important, governed by the powerful Corven Concord, a coalition that ensures the city’s security — at least, within reason. The skyline is a colorful jumble of rooftops and towers, reflecting the diverse mix of cultures that have shaped the city. Inns and taverns cater to wandering adventurers, while merchants barter over exotic goods from across Aldenmore. Those with ambition can buy a ship or join a crew to seek their fortune on the open sea — but danger lurks in the form of thieves, cutthroats, and ruthless pirate lords.

🟆 The Eldermire – The unclaimed Lands

The wilderness of the Eldermire is far too dangerous for any of the three nations to claim. Only the most seasoned adventurers dare to step foot in its depths, where every shadow hides a predator and even the trees seem to conspire against intruders. The very air hums with an ancient, malevolent presence, and those who enter seeking rare resources, lost artifacts, or forbidden magic often never return.

Neighboring nations live in constant fear of the horrors that spill from the Eldermire — beasts and monsters that wander beyond its borders to feast upon villages and livestock. At times, an unspeakable terror will rise from the heart of the forest, laying waste to entire cities before being driven back. The land itself is ever-changing, as if shaped by some eldritch force, with sudden storms and unnatural shifts in climate that defy logic.

The Eldermire is most infamous for its giant crystals of pure magical energy, which glow eerily in the eternal twilight beneath the canopy. These crystals are treasures beyond measure, their power unmatched — but retrieving one is nearly impossible, as they are fiercely guarded by the most dangerous creatures in existence.
